After flipping some breakers I knocked out the small wall that held the old door to the room that was my ’studio’ – there was a couple switches in the wall that had to be handled with care. I got the studs/footer/header out and managed not to do anything that would require a tetanus shot (unlike last weekend).

I also laid out where the new walls will go with masking tape. Damn, it will be awesome once this is done.

I had a small revelation today. There’s always been a fitting spot to put my KX88 in my new studio layout, but now that I have my turntables here in Seattle (which take up the same amount of space {18″ + 48″ approx}), I wasn’t sure how to fit everything in. A few days ago Kim came up with the great idea of having the keyboard on drawer slides mounted under the turntables, so that I could slide the KB out and back in as needed. Brilliant! Today’s revelation was that it was probably more feasible to just put the KB stand on a wagon – same effect (slide out/in when needed) and no need for major supports in the wall for mounting slides.
